The Silly Macabre Playing Cards by Jeff Perryman
The tragic beginnings of this sordid project started as a single morbid print of the sad King of Hearts as seen here above.
After the artist, a rather odd and disturbed fellow, created it and put it out into the unsuspecting world, the response to the poor king’s unseemly demise was overwhelming and a clamoring for a complete deck was beset upon the artist, which now has grown into the doomed and macabre project you see before you.
The appearance of the members of the Deck, though disturbing and silly at times varies wildly depending in large part on the sort of activities they are involved in. The ghastly suits include Medieval Tudor skeletons, Renaissance Italian grave diggers and zombies, Baroque French vampires, and Scottish clan ogres.
A Twenty-year plus veteran of the gaming industry, Jeff brings outstanding experience, along with an infectious enthusiasm for his work (and a walking frame and ear trumpet, for he is venerable and aged).
He began his career in digital games in 1992 at Bethesda Softworks. There Jeff worked as an artist/animator on games such as The Terminator: 2029 and The Elder Scrolls: Arena. He continued his experience at NorthStar Studios, the first developer in the U.S. for the Playstation I.
